Description: Alexander D.C.D. Smith Solo Art Show where he brings stenciling to life. Insight on the Westside presents a solo exhibit of 15 works in mixed media by urban artist Alexander Smith. Smith’s pieces incorporate a mix of stencil and spray paints, acrylic, airbrush, photography, and pinstriping on media ranging from wood panels to clothing and shoes, skateboards, and motorcycles. Smith’s imagery combines portraits and street scenes with symbols and visual references from Asian art, tattoo art, graffiti, typography, sports, and other aspects of pop culture. His pieces are built up in layers with dark stenciled imagery over fields of color.
